Kenya’s Women U19 national team, the Female Cubs, will remain in Africa’s top U19 tier after finishing sixth in the ICC Africa Division 1 Qualifier.
The Female Cubs earned their place in Division 1 earlier in 2026 by winning the ICC Africa Division 2 Qualifier. Holding on to that status keeps Kenya’s young players competing against the strongest U19 teams on the continent.
The squad is coached by Morris Ouma. Several of its players, including Melvin Khagoitsa and Kreeshna Mehta, already play for the senior Lionesses, a sign of the pathway from age-group to national-team cricket.
